Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Atlanta) Honors PeachMac

The Atlanta Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth® (ACG) recognizes PeachMac as one of the 40 fastest growing middle-market companies in Georgia.

Each year, ACG Atlanta recognizes 40 Georgia-based middle-market companies that have demonstrated the greatest growth of revenue and employment over the past three years. 20 companies are selected for each of the two categories: lower middle-market companies with revenues between $15 million to $60 million and upper middle-market companies with revenues between $60 million to $500 million. PeachMac ranked among the top three in the lower middle-market category.

Awards will be presented to honorees at the Georgia Fast 40 Awards Dinner and Gala. This year’s event will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead Thursday night, June 13, 2013.

The Scoop from WWDC 2013

Many of the rumors speculating what would be revealed at the 2013 Worldwide Developers Conference were false, but Apple did not fail to impress its audience members with its Keynote presentation Monday, June 10, 2013.

Viewers got a sneak peak of the new Mac operating system, OS X Mavericks. The new operating system has several awesome new features including tabs and tags in Finder, greater optimization when using multiple displays, new features in Safari, iCloud Keychain, improvements to Calendar, Maps, and iBooks.

A new MacBook Air and Mac Pro were also announced. The MacBook Air will now come standard with an almost all-day battery life, Fourth generation Intel Core processor with faster graphics, more memory, faster Wi-Fi and a cheaper price for the base 13-inch model.

Although the new Mac Pro will not be released until some time this fall, it was very exciting to see the completely new design and hear about the power structure. The new Mac Pro will include dual GPUs, PCI Express-based flash storage, high-performance Thunderbolt 2, new-generation Xeon processors, and much more.

Another highlight of the presentation was a demonstration of iOS 7 which will be coming out this Fall as well. The new iOS will give the iPhone a sleeker look and is jam-packed with many new features including a new Control Center, Multitasking, AirDrop, and improvements to both Safari and the Photos app. iOS 7 will be available to the following devices: iPhone 4/4S/5, iPod touch 16GB/32GB/64GB, and iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, and iPad mini.

Apple also formally introduced iTunes Radio, a new way to stream music right from the Music app. Ads will be included unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber. If you are an iTunes Match subscriber, your listening experience will be ad free!

Apple Keynote Streamed Live Today from WWDC 2013

Apple will be live streaming their WWDC keynote today at 1pm EST through their website and Apple TV. The Worldwide Developers Conference is one of the most pivotal events of the year for Apple products and operating systems. Per Apple.com, Live Streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

Many people speculate that Apple plans to reveal a new iOS, OS X, and possibly updated laptops. Another popular theory is that Apple will be revealing its version of streaming radio with a service called iRadio.

Apple Announces Headliners for the 2013 iTunes Festival

Apple announced last week that Justin Timberlake, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jack Johnson, and Jessie J will be among of the many artists to perform at this year’s iTunes Festival.

The iTunes Festival is a month-long concert series held each September at the Roundhouse in London. Since its inception in 2007, more than 370 artists have performed at the festival in front of audiences of around 370,000 fans.

The festival is also available for streaming online where more than tens of millions of viewers watch the festival live. As the festival draws closer, Apple will reveal the names of other performers, so stay tuned to see if any of your favorite artists will make an appearance.
