Many of the rumors were correct about the iPhone 5s and 5c. Both iPhone 5s and 5c models will be released September 20, 2013 to purchase. The iPhone 5c may be preordered starting on September 13, 2013. The iPhone 5c is a slightly lower priced model and includes most of the features you find in the iPhone 5 but with a slightly different body style and multiple color options including White, Pink, Yellow, Blue and Green.
The iPhone 5s is a vast improvement on the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5s features an entirely new 64-bit A7 processor offering up to 56x the graphic pushing capabilities of the original iPhone. If that isn’t impressive enough, the new M7 coprocessor has been designed to provide a remarkable amount of motion feedback to your exercise apps. Having a built in motion processor should significantly impact your battery performance for the better when using fitness apps.
The 5s includes a new 8mp iSight Camera with a 15% larger sensor capable of taking low light photos at an aperture of f/2.2. The result is stunningly crisp, low-light photos without the aid of a flash. If you wind up needing it, the new True Tone flash will help keep your subjects looking natural and well-lit no matter what the conditions. The camera also includes Burst Mode capabilities with the ability to snap pictures at an incredible 10 pictures per second! If video is your thing, you’ll be pleased to know the 5s offers both 3x digital zoom and 120 frames per second slow motion. Coupled with iOS 7, iPhone 5s is unbeatable.
Once you have your iPhone, you may want a fancy case or cool accessories to go along with it. Here’s where PeachMac can help! We have a huge selection of iPhone cases from the iPhone 4 and up. We expect to have iPhone 5s and 5c cases soon. Stay tuned for updates!

Apple will be holding a special Media Event this Tuesday, September 10th, at 1pm EST to discuss what many speculate will be the future of their mobile devices and platforms. Amongst the rumored products are the iPhone 5S and a budget friendly iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5C. Apple is also expected to officially announce a launch date for both iOS 7 and potentially OS X Mavericks.
Could we also be seeing updated iPads and iPods? Or even a new MacBook Pro? Time will tell, but speculation on a large number of products seeing updates is rampant. As of this writing, Apple has not offered information for live streaming of the event, but various news outlets will be covering the proceedings. We recommend MacWorld’s live coverage of the event.
What new or updated products do you think are coming down the pipe? We’re anxious to find out! Stay tuned to the PeachMac Facebook and Twitter feeds for updates.

Previously, if you were an AppleCare subscriber and needed technical support, your only options were to call the AppleCare support line (within business hours) or visit your local PeachMac. That changed recently with the introduction of 24/7 chat support on the newly revamped AppleCare website.
Apple’s chat service provides support for a variety of issues. Accessing support is as simple as visiting the site. Choose your product and then navigate to find your specific issue. From there, you can select which method of support you’d like to choose. AppleCare representatives will guide you through the rest of the process.
Chat support is available for all current AppleCare members and anyone still covered under their basic warranty. Chat sessions are $19 per incident for out of warranty customers. Just plug in your serial number and Apple Support will let you know if you’re eligible.
Chat support may not keep you from needing a trip to your local PeachMac service department for hardware issues, but it’s sure worth trying for all of your other needs and questions.
Have a burning question about your Mac or iOS device? Give the site a try. No dice there? Visit your local PeachMac service department, and we’ll get everything straightened out in no time. Remember. There is no appointment necessary at PeachMac.

For years, Parallels has been known as one of the best pieces of software for getting Windows on your Mac. The recently unveiled Parallels Access app serves as a twist on that formula by delivering a feature many have been requesting for years – quick, easy and reliable remote access to your Mac via iPad. Long suffering business users and anyone who routinely lugs around their tech are going to love the way Parallels Access simplifies the day.
What sets Parallels Access apart from the competition is its reliable, silky, and stutter-free performance. We tested Access over 4G and were blown away by the results. We experienced none of the hesitation or lag that can be found in so many other remote access services. On top of this, the Parallels team has adapted performance for nearly every major OS X app. They work flawlessly with the touch screen interface almost to the point that you’d never have known they weren’t designed for iPad in the first place.
While business users will be happy to know that both Excel and Word performed excellently, Access also did great with iPhoto. We were happily editing our photos with relative ease. Multitasking is simple as well. Tapping a small icon in the bottom right corner brought up our open files and applications in a translucent tray that didn’t interfere with the current active application.
Access starts with a handy video tutorial covering all of its features, but the interface is so intuitive you may not need it. Users will find that controlling Access feels like a combination between the experiences of using the touchscreen of an iPad and controlling a Mac via trackpad. Each tap responds as a click while each double tap responds as a double-click. Pressing with two fingers registers as a secondary or “right click.” Want to move or highlight something? Just hold a finger down until a small reticule turns blue and start dragging. If touch controls aren’t your thing, there’s even a “Mouse” mode. While this feature is admirable for those who want options, we vastly preferred the responsiveness of the default “Native Touch” mode.
Setup is simple. Download both the Parallels Access desktop client and iOS app. You will be prompted to register upon downloading the desktop client. The software includes a 14-day trial with no obligation to enroll in the $79.99 annual subscription up front. Access ‘pairs’ devices via your Parallels user ID. Getting access is as easy as tapping on the icon that represents your Mac.
Overall we found Parallels Access to be an entirely pleasant experience. The simple, intuitive interface combined with its jaw-dropping, smooth performance definitely puts it in the lead among its competitors in the remote access field. It’s perfect for business users, students or anyone that needs reliable access to their Mac on the go. It’s also a great solution for anyone that regularly uses software that’s proprietary to the Mac, or just prefers the full-featured options of desktop software in general.
