Wow! What an announcement! On September 12, 2012, Apple announced the iPhone 5 and new line of iPods including an impressive iPod touch and iPod nano.
The new iPhone 5 will have a larger screen. To maintain the phone’s usability with one hand, the phone will only be taller, not wider. This will be the thinnest iPhone yet as it will be 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the previous iPhone. To achieve this thin design, the iPhone 5 will use the new, smaller Lightning connector. The back of the phone will now also have a lightly textured back instead of slick glass.
The new iPhone 5 will also be equipped with 4G LTE which will allow for much faster downloads. Its all-new Apple A6 chip will make the iPhone 5 twice as fast as previous generations while also increasing battery life. You will also be able to use FaceTime over your cellular network.
Although PeachMac does not currently carry the iPhone, we do have the largest selection of iPhone cases and accessories in the state! By Friday, September 21, we will have several brands in stock including Otterbox, Agent18, and others!
The new iPod line up is pretty impressive. The iPod touch now has a superthin aluminum body that can be one of many colors including: slate, silver, blue, yellow, & pink. It also comes with a “loop” that attaches to the back of the iPod to make it easier to carry around while reducing the risk of dropping. Its 4-inch Retina display is absolutely stunning and will make watching videos and playing games all the better! Even the iSight camera has been improved!
The new iPod nano is super slick. The size is a little larger, but still easily fits anywhere necessary! It is now about the size of a credit card and has a screen twice as large as the previous iPod nano for increased functionality. It comes in all the same colors as the iPod touch, but also comes in purple and green.
New iPods will be in stock in early October at all PeachMac locations.
